Well, after Valley I went to Va Tech for about a year and decided school wasn't my thing at the time. So I jumped right into the working world at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg.
My biggest concern at first was free golf, so naturally I started at the golf course there and was there for a couple of years. After 2001 I decided to let go of trying to be a golf pro once I realized I wasn't any good.
Over the next 6 years I worked my way to being the resort manager and having all the fun of dealing with the drunks, the emergencies and everything that went wrong in a 2 year time. Then on and up finally to golf membership sales.
But, I just decided to give it all up, and go back to being a poor college student. I start as a sophomore at Shepherd University as a psychology major.

I graduated from UVA in 2002 with a BA in English and a Masters in Teaching. I student taught at Blue Ridge, and then after I graduated, got a job teaching English at Harmony Intermediate in Hamilton. At the time, Bill Oblas was the principal. The same summer I graduated, I married my high school sweetheart - Duncan Donohue (class of '95). We lived in Hamilton in an apartment (yes, there are some that exist in Hamilton) for two years.
We bought our house in Purcellville and have been living there ever since. It's small and cozy, but is great for us right now. Duncan graduated from George Mason in '08 with his Ph.D. in neuroscience, and has been working at NIH in Bethesda as a post-doctoral research fellow since this summer. He enjoys it, although the commute can be hard. I got Nationally Board Certified in '07 which is a big deal for teachers, and involved a ton of work. I am also the department chair at Harmony, and co-directed the school musicals for a few years. I really enjoy teaching.
The biggest news lately is that Duncan and I are expecting our first baby in March - a boy due on St. Patrick's Day! Only 6 weeks away now - very exciting! I am ready for this change in our life and we are both thrilled that he is almost here. If I ever remember once the baby is born, I'll try to come back on and update how it all went!

My husband and I live in Sterling, with our precious dog, Chloe. I currenty run 2 fitness centers for AOL here in Northern VA. After graduation I went to college at James Madison University. While at JMU I was a member of the Marching Royal Dukes and my freshman year we went on a tour of Europe. We traveled and performed in France (and rang in the new year while in France) and Italy. Then we traveled to Monaco and performed in front of the royal palace. We then toured through Switzerland and finally Germany. It was a wonderful and exciting experience. I graduated from JMU in 2001 with a BA in Theater and right after graduation I received a summer job with the university as box office manager of their Children's Playshop. So I ended up staying down there a little longer than I originally had thought.
After that summer I returned to Northern Virginia and got a receptionist job with a government contractor. I then received a promotion and became a billing clerk/assistant accountant for that same company. I have been with this company for almost six years now.
For three years I took Irish step dancing at a local dance school in my free time. It was a lot of fun! Last year a group of us went on a two day tour for St. Patrick's Day. We went to elementary schools, hospitals, shopping centers, and Dulles Town Center performing an entire show of Irish step dance. It was a great experience but the most exhausting experience of my life! Unfortunately this year I was not able to continue with Irish step dancing due to schedule conflicts with work.

After graduating from UVA with degrees in English and French I worked very briefly at National Geographic Traveler. Then I moved to London for 3 years to teach French and Religion at a boarding school (think Harry Potter). I was also artist in residence for photography.
When I was in England I applied to film school and got into USC... so I moved from London to LA and I've been at USC Film School ever since. My first major film there was a 25-minute documentary called, "Overexposed." It explored how sexualized mass media and pornography affect men's abilities to be intimate. The following summer I produced a friend's thesis film in Kenya. We got the rights to a Kenyan short story and adapted it for the screen (www.TheKnifeGrindersTale.com).
Currently, I'm in India preparing to direct my own thesis film about modern slavery. When I found out slavery still exists, I knew I had to make a movie about it. Most people expect this to be a documentary, but it's the first fictional film of its kind to expose child labor in brick kilns. We have a 50-person crew and begin shooting at the end of September. By teaming up with anti-slavery NGO's and raising awareness through the film I hope this will be a small step to help abolish slavery. After graduation I attended Virginia Tech for 6 and 1/2 years, and received my Bachelors in Biology, and a Masters in Food Microbiology. I then got a great job with a biotechnology company that manufactures biological products for cleaning all sorts of things, from simple home cleaning products to industrial water and oil spills (I work in the industrial division), and I moved to Roanoke, Virginia.
After getting transferred into the sales position I have now, I relocated to Columbus so that travel in my territory (the Midwest and Canada) would be easier. It is an exciting job, I've been to oil refineries, paper mills, steel mills and food plants, and the best part besides getting my own hard hat is I am doing something good for our planet and get to spend most of my time traveling, and the rest of my time working from home.
In my spare time I have been traveling for fun as much as I can and working on increasing the number of stamps on my passport, perfecting my palate wine tasting, cooking for friends and family, getting involved in all sorts of home improvement projects and learning to use power tools. No kids yet or planned anytime soon, but I have three dogs that are like kids to me and a cute little house in an interesting downtown neighborhood in Columbus. I am looking forward to moving back in Virginia in the next few years to be closer to my family.

Let's see, after Valley, I graduated from William and Mary with a BA in English and returned to the DC Metro only to be gainfully unemployed for five months. I eventually got hired as a copywriter and copy editor for Hirshorn Zuckerman Design Group in Rockville, MD, and worked there for nearly four years before completely burning out on writing ad copy and playing grammar police for commercial real estate clients (and dating coworkers).
About two and a half years ago, I took a job working for a small government contractor in Falls Church doing "marketing." It's taken me to some cool places, like Rome. Last year, I started working on a masters in creative writing at Johns Hopkins, which I hope to complete in the next year or two. (Working full time and taking classes is a bi@#%, but a fun challenge!) We'll see where it all leads me. Current pipe dream(s): to become a college professor and published writer or the next Food Network star (did I mention I love to cook?). I live in Arlington by myself and I love it. Periodically I think about getting a dog and then I'm reminded why I don't want one. Most recent fun thing I did was go to a DC United game where I saw David Beckham take his shirt off. HOT. I had sushi with Jessica Smith last week. And, most importantly, I'm seriously thinking about taking up cheerleading again. What?

After we all graduated I spent the summer in Europe. It was so beautiful there I would love to go back one day. After I returned to the states I was not quite ready to go college so I entered the work force as an assistant preschool teacher. I worked my way up and became the lead preschool teacher, however working with 30 three year olds on a daily basis can get tiring so I decided to move on and became a private nanny for a child with special needs. I found that I really enjoy working with special needs children and decided (finally) that that would be my career choice. After high school I moved to Michigan and lived outside of Detroit for about three years. Being young and naive I decided I was going to be a recording engineer so I spend I few months in school learning the in and outs. After I realized that the business was quite tough to get into and ended up managing a convenience store. Being in a rough neighborhood I'm full of stories. In 1999 I married my wife (the mother of my child) and have been in a wonderful marriage since.
In 2001 we moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland where I was a head teller for Chevy Chase Bank. After about two years I open my own business in Gaithersburg. Although I ended up leaving the business it was such a great experience. At The Wild Bird Center I was able to help with the community and really get people involved with nature. I was a speaker at several events and conducted bird walks on a regular basis. My next move was at Autoscribe to become the Accounts Receivable Specialist. This was really the step I needed to take to get my experience and help push my life in the direction I wanted to go.
Currently I am the Book Keeper for Edge Biosystems in Gaithersburg and my wife is Human Resources for the same company. My son has just turned twelve and will be entering the 7th grade. Three years ago was moved from Gaithersburg and bought a house in Martinsburg, WV. We spend lots of time gardening and trying to improve our household. Both my wife and I are both continuing with our education although she at a much more rapid pace than I, if you remember school wasn't my best attribute. Most of my free time is spent playing music. At this time I'm the guitar player in a band called DV8 although I've been working on my own recordings. Any other free time is spent with family. After Graduation I went to Virginia Tech where I got an Interdisciplinary degree in Architecture and Engineering. It only took me 6 years to graduate! Ha! But I went to Honduras for a year of that for an independent study slash mission trip. And then I went into sales, go figure. I worked with The Southwestern Company (Headquartered in Nashville TN) in sales and marketing for a few years and then in sales management for a few more. I started with the company in college as an intern and worked with them for about 4 years after school. I was able to stay in Blacksburg for those years which I loved. Well I spent the majority of my time, right after high school, screwing around and partying up and down the east coast. I was one of those dirty ravers for a while. So, I didn't really start/finish any sort of collegiate education.
Helped a friend with a little side business out of his mom's basement for a while. Digitally recording DJs, hosting web sites, stuff like that. But we never took much seriously and the business never went anywhere.
Finally decided to grow up some, so around 20 I started with a webcasting company, called TV on the Web, as an IT/Video/Editor/Engineer type person. Company went "Tango Uniform" as part of the dot com bust. So, I started with another company, called Net36, doing some of the same, but mainly more IT admin crap. That company went away too... BUT some people at the company that owned Net36, (PanAmSat) liked the work I did so they hired me on down here in Atlanta. That was late 2001. I pretty much ran the gamut of positions there, video editor, cable monkey, network admin, network engineer, etc, etc... It was just this past July I left that company (then Intelsat, after a merger) to work for Cox Communications. I sure do love working for Cox (yep...still funny to say).
Aside from that I've been losing weight, gaining weight (my fat ass was up to 245 at one point). Losing hair, and uhhh, not gaining it back. Got a crappy condo in the city, a dog, two crappy cars...one of which I use to race, but now sits in storage like a lump. Love to go out and dance. Pop-and-lock b-boy/raver style yo! But I'm still not very good at it. That's pretty much the essence that is Court (that's right...I spoke of myself in the 3rd person).
